Capturing momentum

When I first checked out Adrien’s Instagram account (linked below), I was blown away by the poetic beauty of the content he creates. It doesn’t just feel like travel content. It feels like a secret window into some of the world’s most beautiful places. With his partner Rita in front of the camera, Adrien gives you a front-row experience of what these incredible places are actually like. The key to all of it for Adrien is momentum. Whether that’s the momentum of the day, by capturing his shots intentionally at sunrise and sunset. Or actual momentum via the skates he zooms around on while filming. There is a sort of emotional motion happening in his work that feels like pure magic.

Persistence and patience

Making social media content is something everyone has access to these days, but few know how to put it together in a way that engages and grows their audience. This is something Adrien has been perfecting for years. However, he wasn’t always successful at it. He started making Reel-type content years before it was popular on Instagram, and it didn’t perform at all. Where some would get discouraged, Adrien waited patiently and then capitalized on his art when it gained mass popularity. He was one of the first adopters of Reels because he was already ready. The moral of the story is: Don’t give up on your art if no one gets it. Sometimes all you need is a little persistence and patience.

A helping hand

As I listened to Adrien passionately share his knowledge around social media content creation, I couldn’t help but draw parallels between our two creative philosophies. He’s not making his art to go viral. He does it to give people the opportunity to step into another world, to inspire them to travel, and even create content of their own. Adrien also hopes to be able to teach others content creation as well. He feels there is space for everyone, and just like painting, everyone’s content will be a unique representation of who they are. I believe we need more of that helping spirit in the world of creativity, and I can’t wait to see what Adrien does next. Listen to this episode for more!
