Is it time to simplify your art?

Happy Sunday!

Something’s come up as I’ve been working on many new paintings in the studio. The work is evolving quickly, but it looks complicated. I’m losing track of what it is I want to show. It reminds me to pause and remember what I was excited about in the first place.

Watch here…

This painting had more texture, shapes, and color — the things I add almost out of habit, but the design is what I love. Simplifying this painting has helped me. I removed so much of what I added to feel my way back to the design. Now I’m clear about what I want the viewer to see and feel.

If you feel your work has too much going on, simplify with intention to reveal what’s most important to you. It will land with others too! Let me know in the comments if you have some work you need to go back to and simplify!

On this week’s episode of the Art2Life Podcast, my friend Suzi Dafnis joins me! Suzi is a leader, visionary, and now an artist who invites us to dream bigger to activate our belief system. She knows this is how we make things happen. We’ll be making art together and we invite you to do the same! I hope you can join us on Wednesday. Listen on your favorite podcast streaming service or watch on our YouTube Channel.

And don’t forget that our Art2Life Retreats in Morocco and Mexico are open for registration! I can’t wait to meet up for a transformational experience with you! Spots are filling up fast, so be sure to check it out before we sell out.
