I have never been comfortable with using pink – it’s just not a color I understand. So, naturally, I decided to take a dive and started working on several large paintings made almost entirely of pink.
Tackling this new subject in such an immersive, all-consuming type of way got me out of my comfort zone, and forced me to push my work in new, unexpected directions. It is crucial, as an artist, to continuously expose your practice to unfamiliar concepts and approaches, as this is how you grow.
Watch the video and let me know what you think. What colors or concepts do you shy away from working with?
In gratitude, Nicholas
